Miss Jo Higgins
Joanna is a hand and wrist, trauma and orthopaedic consultant in Dorset. She undertook her specialist training in the South, followed by being awarded a nationally appointed fellowship at the world-renowned Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby, UK. She relocated back to the South for her consultant post within the NHS, at University Hospitals Dorset. She is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Joanna has a specialist interest in the use of local anaesthetic to treat hand and wrist injuries and conditions. She is also very keen on education and is the Royal College of Surgeons of England Surgical Tutor for Poole Hospital. Joanna also represents the region as a British Orthopaedic Association Culture and Diversity Champion.
Joanna lives locally in Dorset with her husband and two small children, who all bring much joy and chaos.
