Dr Amit Patel

Amit is accredited in Cardiology and General (internal) medicine having been trained in London, New Zealand, and locally in Bournemouth (as part of the Wessex cardiology rotation).  He is currently working at Salisbury and Bournemouth Hospitals.

His main specialisation is in interventional cardiology but has extensive experience in complex cardiac devices and cardiac imaging. This has provided him with comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of cardiology.

He is trained in numerous cardiac procedures including coronary angioplasty (‘heart stents’), pacemaker and defibrillator insertion and all aspects of echocardiography (“ultrasound of the heart”). His broad skill set enables him to run the “Heart health clinics” effectively which he is passionate about to provide preventative heart care.

Outside interests include cycling, paddle boarding, football, rugby and skiing.  Amit also likes to travel extensively when time permits.
